The company 2K Games and the manufacturer of LEGO constructors have officially announced LEGO 2K Drive — an AAA racing game with an open world in the spirit of Mario Kart and the opportunity to build a "car of your dreams".
The project is being created for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC by Visual Concepts studio specializing in WWE 2K and NBA 2K sports series.
The release, as indicated in yesterday's leak, will take place on May 19. Pre-orders are already open.
In LEGO 2K Drive, players will be able to build any vehicles to their liking, using more than 1000 unique parts, or choose ready-made ones from the lines of LEGO City, LEGO Creator, LEGO Speed Champions and others.
In addition, the race will offer many different modes, including a story campaign where it will be necessary to go from a novice racer to the famous champion of Brickland, competitive online multiplayer and co-op with support for a split screen for two participants.
"Given the history of the LEGO brand, we were aware of our responsibility to our partners and long-time fans of LEGO games, but at the same time we were thinking about how to bring something new and unique to the project," said Greg Thomas, president of Visual Concepts.
