The role-playing game Diablo IV has become the second AAA project on a PC with support for Microsoft's DirectStorage download acceleration technology.
This became known from the files of the beta version, which recently completed the open testing phase.
DirectStorage was previously implemented in the PC version of Forspoken by Sqaure Enix and Luminous Productions studio.
According to the information found, beta Diablo 4 used DirectStorage 1. 0, which does not have the advantages of GPU decompression.

Among other technical features of the PC version of Diablo IV will be support for DLSS 3 technology with optical frame generation, which improves performance on GeForce RTX 40 Series video cards by generating more frames using artificial intelligence.
In one of the post-release updates, Blizzard also plans to add ray tracing effects to the RPG.
The release of Diablo IV on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One will take place on June 6.
