The role-playing game Final Fantasy XVI will remain exclusive to the PlayStation 5 console for six months from the moment of release. Information about this is provided in a new Sony commercial.

"Final Fantasy XVI is expected in the summer of 2023. PS5 is an exclusive for six months," the message says.

The previous major part of the main series, Final Fantasy VII Remake (our review), was a PlayStation 4 exclusive for one year, after which it moved to PlayStation 5.

Six months later, it was transferred to the PC.

Probably, Final Fantasy XVI will be ported six months after the premiere to at least PC — Final Fantasy VII Remake is still not available on Xbox, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has also not been announced for Microsoft platforms.

Interestingly, Final Fantasy XV (our review) was immediately released in 2016 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Square Enix promises to reveal the exact release date of Final Fantasy XVI before the end of 2022. Now the game is 95% ready.

Before the release, fans will receive a demo version.
