The first reviews of Forspoken, a new role—playing game published by Square Enix, created by the Luminous Productions team consisting of the authors of Final Fantasy XV, have appeared on the web.
They accepted the novelty quite coolly. On the review aggregator Metacritic, her average score has so far stopped at 68 points.
On OpenCritic — 69 points. The reviews of the reviewers are very ambiguous.
The press scolds and praises the game for a variety of elements, but for the most part, reviewers agree that almost every successful idea or system is accompanied by an unsuccessful implementation, as a result of which Forspoken does not reveal its potential.
The Forspoken script got the most — almost no one from the players praised it.
There is a general crumpling of the feed, as well as an abundance of inexpressive dialogues that greatly spoil the overall perception of what is happening on the screen.
IGN - 6/10 "Forspoken has a bright combat system and parkour mechanics, but they are not enough to cover a stamped storyline and an empty open world."
GameInformer - 7. 5/10"The plot and the Forspoken combat system fail to reach their potential and compare with the quality of the implementation of the mechanics of movement and the fascination of exploring the open world.
Fortunately, the last two elements are what you will be doing most of your passage."
GameSpot - 5/10 "Forspoken has a beautiful picture and good music, but the boring combat system, weak characters and poor parkour mechanics disappoint."
Shacknews - 6/10"Forspoken Magic Parkour is a mechanic with great potential, and it is interesting to interact with it. It at least offers an atypical system of moving around locations.
However, parkour, the combat system and the open world are clearly not enough to ignore the many problems that exist in the game. The main one is the main character Fray Holland herself."
VG247 - 3/5"The crumpled beginning greatly distracts from an interesting combat system, which is a pleasure to spend time studying.
However, by the time it begins to unfold in full, the game definitely wants to quit."
TheGamer - 4. 5/5 "Forspoken is a clumsy project with ridiculous dialogues and characters, but the gameplay really shines here."
Hardcore Gamer - 2/5"The fresh start of Luminous Productions turned out to be the release of a boring and unfinished game for the studio, which simply cannot make you follow the events taking place in it with interest."
GameRant - 3/5"Forspoken promises you an interesting world and a deep system of magic spells, but the project could not submit its content in a decent performance."
The global premiere of Forspoken will take place tomorrow, January 24. The game will be released only on PlayStation 5 and PC.
