The opinion of the press on the role-playing action from WB Games Montreal was divided, but in general, journalists met the game without much enthusiasm.

The average rating of the project on OpenCritic currently stands at 70 points out of 100, while on Metacritic the average rating of Gotham Knights is even lower and varies from 67 to 69 points depending on the platform.

What they write about the game:PC Gamer: "Gotham Knights tries to differentiate itself from the Arkham series with new characters and a new canon, but most of the time it does a poor imitation of what made the old games so great."

IGN: "Gotham Knights is a cooperative-oriented adventure game that was able to attract my attention only thanks to a bad fight, a transparently predictable puzzle and an exhausting passage."

Hobby Consolas: "Gotham Knights doesn't know who she wants to be.

It has the narrative and structure of a singleplayer game, but there are also weak RPG elements that do not contribute anything to the overall formula, and endless repetitive goals, like in an MMO.

This is not a really bad game in which you can really spend time with interest, but it seems to lack something. And it's not about Batman."

Telegraph: "If Arkham games are Christopher Nolan's level of ingenuity and genius, then Gotham Knights is in the DC extended universe with Zack Snyder and Aquaman.

Adjust your expectations accordingly, and then you will have a pleasant entertainment."

WCCFTech: "Gotham Knights is a non-boring action RPG that follows in the footsteps of the legacy of Batman: Arkham and at the same time goes in a slightly different direction.

It has the most realistic Gotham of all we have seen, although the plot is nothing more than mediocre, and the performance is disappointing.

Nevertheless, fans of the genre and characters should like the game."

Hardcore Gamer: "The Knights of Gotham have their moments of splendor and fan, but they never manage to get out of the looming shadow of Batman."

GamingBolt: "Gotham Knights' insistence on being a modern role-playing game with an open world has led to some problems with gameplay and painfully formulaic mechanics, but, nevertheless, here you can have a lot of fun and experience a fascinating story.

It may not be Arkham, but it's good enough on its own."

Gamepur: "Gotham Knights is a game that contradicts itself, wanting to dive into many things at once, but not getting the full impact of any of them."

Gotham Knights is released tomorrow on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
