On the stream showing the updated The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the developers announced that one of the changes to the game will be the ability to pause cutscenes.

The lead designer of CD Projekt RED for quests, Philip Weber, added in correspondence with Twitter users that another difference with regard to cutscenes in the reissue will be the way they are played.

Due to technical limitations, some cutscenes in The Witcher 3 were initially launched as pre-recorded videos, which imposed some restrictions, for example, when playing on high-resolution displays, the difference in the quality of game and pre-render scenes was very noticeable.

In the reissue, this point was corrected by making all cutscenes realtime, that is, the videos will be rendered on the engine in real time.

Example of a pre-rendered cutscene from the original:The next generation version of The Witcher 3 will be released on December 14 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.

The update will be free for all current owners of the game.
