Rebecca caused a dispute between the creators of the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners from Studio Trigger and representatives of CD Projekt RED, who insisted on removing the girl because of her unnecessarily childish appearance.
The developers said that this image does not fit into the entourage of Knight City. The discussion came to the point that Japanese animators directly said that the loli should stay.
However, now, after the successful premiere of the animated adaptation of Cyberpunk 2077, one of the members of the creative team CD Projekt RED, who opposed the inclusion of Rebecca in the anime, admitted in an interview that he changed his mind.
"She is the best girl," the developer said during a broadcast dedicated to the release of the anime.
"But I feel a little guilty saying this because I was one of the people on the creative team who actually voted to have Rebecca removed from the original character list in preparation for production."
All 10 episodes of the anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners are available for streaming on Netflix.
