The Monster Hunter Rise role-playing action game will be distributed on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles exclusively in digital format, Capcom announced.
Physical editions are not planned even for the Japanese region. The reasons for this decision are not given.
The Nintendo Switch version will eventually remain the only one available on physical media at retail. Monster Hunter Rise was originally released on the Nintendo Switch in March 2021.
In January 2022, there was a release for PC. The game has sold 11.2 million copies, which makes it one of the most successful in the history of Capcom.
The game will debut on Sony and Microsoft consoles on January 20, 2023 at a price of $39.99 for the basic version and $49.99 for the extended version.
A paid Sunbreak add-on will be released in the spring. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to play Monster Hunter Rise for free.
