The computer version of Need for Speed Unbound will receive support for the Denuvo anti-piracy protection system.
This was reported by the dataminers after digging into the files of the trial version of the race, which is available in the Origin store.
Experts note that due to the use of Denuvo, the Need for Speed Unbound executables have grown to large sizes.
For example, in the full version, the launcher takes up 432 MB of free space, and in the trial version — 500 MB.
It is worth noting that the developers have not officially announced the protection system. It is also unclear why they needed Denuvo.
Apparently, Need for Speed Unbound contains an offline mode, otherwise Electronic Arts would have tied the game to its servers.
The race will be released on modern consoles and PCs on December 2, 2022.
