The recently released multiplayer action Resident Evil Re:Verse, available for free with Resident Evil: Village, has fewer concurrent players on Steam than the 2002 Resident Evil remake.

In Re:Verse, players take on the role of various characters in the series and fight with each other, and in case of death they turn into one of the monsters, getting the opportunity to take revenge on their opponent.

This is not Capcom's first attempt to bring the series online, however, players still seem to prefer the traditional singleplayer experience of the franchise more.

According to Steam statistics, right now in Resident Evil Re:Verse is played by 183 people at the same time, while the first Resident Evil is played by 362.

For the last 24 hours, the maximum Re indicator:Verse totaled 275 simultaneous players compared to 436 in the RE1 remake.

The old game is also ahead of the novelty in terms of peak online for all time - 4340 against 2115 for Re:Verse.

At the moment, Re:Verse offers only two maps: the Raccoon City police station from the Resident Evil 2 remake and the Baker house from Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and given the low interest of players and mixed reviews, the project risks being left without support in the near future.
