The PC version of The Last of Us: Part I was sharply criticized for problematic technical performance on the day of release.

The port was developed by Naughty Dog together with Iron Galaxy studio and was released yesterday after a slight delay.

However, immediately after the release, the rating of the game on Steam turned out to be "mostly negative".

A significant number of players were dissatisfied with the long compilation of shaders, low performance, frequent crashes, freezes and many other problems.

At the moment, out of more than 5 thousand user reviews of the game on Steam, only 33% are positive. "The worst port in recent times."

"The most absurd thing is that you can get money back for the game only if you don't play for more than 2 hours. Shaders are loaded about 4.

Thanks for the beta test, console developers." "I can't even start the game, crashes at the shader compilation stage."

"So you have to be able to port it! ".

"RTX 4090 + 13900K + 32 GB RAM 7800 MHz DDR5 - ragged FPS or even a slideshow. The game compiles something there constantly against the background, even after supposedly completing the compilation!

Optimization, ow, where are you? ".

"The one-on-one situation is like with Horizon: Zero Dawn. On release, this is a piece of raw feces that needs to be patched and finished.

I do not advise buying now, in 48 minutes of the game it flew out five times for sure."

The developers from Naughty Dog have already responded to the situation, stating that the team is actively studying the numerous problems reported by the players, and is currently prioritizing updates with fixes.

The studio also asks players to submit requests through its support page for any problems they encounter.

Nevertheless, despite the technical failure, the launch of The Last of Us: Part I in terms of the number of players on Steam turned out to be the best among PlayStation releases on PC since Marvel's Spider-Man: Remastered.

The online remake of "Some of Us" on the Valve platform reached a peak of 36.4 thousand simultaneous players on the premiere day, which surpassed the figures of Days Gone (27.4 thousand), Spider-Man: Miles Morales (13.5 thousand), Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection (10.8 thousand), Returnal (6, 6 thousand ) and Sackboy: A Big Adventure (610).

The best start at the same time still remains for God of War (73, 5 thousand). Next come Spider-Man: Remastered (66, 4 thousand) and Horizon: Zero Dawn (56, 5 thousand ).
