Sony is desperately trying to get the termination of the Microsoft merger agreement with Activision Blizzard. The Japanese company is doing its best to prevent the loss of Call of Duty.

Microsoft's documents, which the company sent to the British regulator (CMA) to evaluate the deal, report on Sony's previously concluded agreement with Activision, according to which the games in the series will be released and advertised in conjunction with the PlayStation until 2024.

At the same time, the Redmond company notes that it offered to release Call of Duty series games on PlayStation after the purchase of developers until 2027, but Sony refused.

Microsoft's statements have already appeared on the web that Sony sponsors independent studios so that their games do not get into the Xbox Game Pass.

From the words of the company's representatives, it follows that the current agreement with Activision helped Sony block the release of Call of Duty in the subscription service.

Now Microsoft cannot add shooters to its catalog only for the reason that in the old agreement between developers and Sony until 2024 it is prohibited.

Earlier it became known that Microsoft tried to introduce the Xbox Game Pass within the PlayStation platforms, but was refused by Sony.

It seems that Jim Ryan's team is only interested in one thing — the independence of Activision Blizzard and the permanent preservation of Call of Duty on PlayStation.
