According to Activision Blizzard's recently released financial report, Call of Duty shooters have reached a three-year minimum of player engagement.

As a result of the second quarter ended June 30, Mau (number of unique users per month) amounted to 94 million players, falling below 100 million for the first time since 2019.

At the same time, the peak was established in the first quarter of 2021. At that time, the monthly audience of Call of Duty exceeded 150 million people.

The news came after Activision confirmed that the Call of Duty franchise will receive new premium paid content in 2023, amid reports that the publisher will leave the series next year without a new game in the main line.

As for this year, Activision has two major releases planned for Call of Duty. Modern Warfare II will be released on October 28, and Warzone 2.0 will be launched later in the year.
