The Last of Us multiplayer game from Naughty Dog may be distributed for free

A new list of vacancies on the Naughty Dog website may indicate that The Last of Us multiplayer spin-off will be distributed under the Free-to-Play model.

The announcement for the position of producer says that Naughty Dog is looking for a specialist, indicating in the bonus skills column the presence of experience working on a shareware service AAA title.

At the June presentation of Summer Game Fest, Neil Drakmann confirmed the development of an ambitious network game in the universe of The Last of Us and showed the first art.

Initially, multiplayer was planned to be a mode for The Last of Us: Part II, but in the end it was decided to turn it into a separate title.

The project has been in development for more than two years, and they promise to tell more about it next year.
