God of War: Ragnarok featured the second biggest retail launch of the year in the UK. Physical sales of the new Sony exclusive in the first week were higher than those of ELDEN'S RING, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Pokémon Legends: Arcay.
The only game that couldn't be beaten at launch was FIFA 23. In addition, the project set a new record for the franchise
in the UK market, selling better on the first day than any other installment before it, and weekly sales were 51% higher than God of War 2018 and already made Ragnarok the third best-selling entry in the series in the UK of all time, as well as the second revenue.
The bulk of sales of God of War: Ragnarok fell on the version for the slot machine 5 (82% of the total sold circulation), and 12% of them sold along with the official bundle.
The PS5 bundle with the game accounted for 60% of all consoles sold in a week. By console sales last week
turned out to be the largest for this year in the country.
Against this backdrop, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II broke its two-week dominance and dropped to second place. Another novelty of the week - Sonic Borders - debuted at number four.
In the first week, the game sold 5% better than Sound Forces. 40% on PS5, 34% on Switch, 14% on Xbox, and 12% on PS4.
Also last week was the disc release of Vagrant for PS4, bringing the game back to the charts at #23.
Horizon: Forbidden West (+141%) and Nintendo exclusives saw strong growth.
