The Astronauts studio also took part in the last presentation of the Future Games Show, where it presented a fresh gameplay trailer for Witchfire.
The video was dedicated to an element of the combat system, which has not yet been demonstrated in detail — magic.
The new shooter from former Painkiller and Bulletstorm developers will combine intense firefights with light and heavy spells involving four main elements: air, earth, fire and water.
In the video, game designer Karol Krok showed how these spontaneous attacks can intertwine with each other in battle. "Each [magic] element has its own unique property.
For example, set on fire enemies take more damage, in addition, all these elements intuitively interact with each other."
According to The Astronauts, the effective use of spells and weapons in tandem is the key to survival in the Land of Witches.
Initially, the structure of the project was built on separate locations, but then the developers revised their plans in favor of a single open world.
Witchfire will be launched in early access on PC via Epic Games Store already "in the near future".
