You will not need to go through the original Alan Wake, Control or the AWE extension to fully understand the continuation story.

Alan Wake II is an independent game, but for fans who are interested in this universe, the authors recommend that you familiarize yourself with Control and its add-on.

At the moment, there are no plans to release the game on physical media. The project will appear at the start only in digital format.

Remedy explained this decision by the fact that a significant part of the sales went into the "figure".

In addition, the lack of disk release costs allowed them to keep the cost at $60 for consoles and $50 for PCs.

The deluxe edition will cost $70 ($60 on PC), but will include additional content, including a season pass, a Scandinavian skin for Saga's shotgun, a parliamentary skin for Alan's shotgun, a purple windbreaker for Saga, a celebrity costume for Alan and a lantern pendant for Saga.

The pre-order bonuses will be a patterned skin for Alan's revolver and a set of survival resources for the Saga.

After the release, the game will continue to be supported by free content and the release of two paid add-ons.

The extensions will be called "Night Keys" and "House by the Lake", but details about them have not yet been disclosed.

Alan Wake II is being created on the latest version of its own Northlight Engine. The game will be released on October 17.

Pre-orders are already open.
