The reissue of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII received the first ratings from the media.

Journalists met the new version of the game with PSP well — on the review aggregator OpenCritic, the average score stopped at 80 points. The original received 83 points at the time.

According to reviewers, Square Enix managed to adequately refresh the classic game, embodying it not only in a completely new visual shell, but also making some changes to the gameplay.

The overall structure of the game has remained unchanged, but it is now more convenient to play, which should appeal to both fans and newcomers, for whom Crisis Core will be a prequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake and the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

Eurogamer - Recommends "An expressive reissue of the classic prequel with PSP, which received a new context against the background of Final Fantasy VII Remake."

GameSpot - 8/10"Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is a triumphant update of the classics from the PSP, turning it into a must-read modern game.

Especially for fans of the Final Fantasy VII universe."

GamingBolt - 8/10"Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is an impressive visual update, which, among other things, manages to prove once again about the quality of the original game.

Some aspects of the project feel somewhat archaic today, but the pleasant combat system makes it quite easy to recommend this release."

TrueGaming - 8/10"Zack Fair's adventure is still as sincere and touching as you remember it.

Here is one of the most beloved games in the Final Fantasy line, which Square Enix has tried to improve point-by-point in every available aspect. Don't miss it."

Negative reviews turned out to be a minority. In them, the main claims are made not to the reissue, but to the game itself.

Critics believe that even in 2007, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII was an "optional fan fiction for fans", and in 15 years it has also become structurally outdated.

However, this is in any case a project primarily for fans of the saga.

Recall that the worldwide premiere of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion will take place on December 13 on all modern platforms, including PC and Nintendo Switch.
