CD Projekt RED continues to make technical improvements to Cyberpunk 2077 as far as possible.

Owners of modern graphics cards from NVIDIA have recently received an update that added DLSS 3 support with Super Resolution and Frame Generation technologies to the PC game.

Now NVIDIA and CD Projekt RED have confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be the first AAA-class game with path tracing technology.

The full announcement will take place on March 22 at the GDC conference, during which the developers will hold a panel in partnership with NVIDIA, where they will tell you more about this update.

So far, it is known that the effects of RTX Path Tracing technology will be available in options in the new Overdrive raytracing parameter.

Currently, path tracing is already used in Quake RTX and Portal RTX, but the creators of large titles are still bypassing this technology.

The fact is that path tracing, judging by the same Portal RTX, is incredibly demanding on GPU power, and Cyberpunk 2077 is already one of the most resource-intensive games at the moment.

It is quite possible that with the addition of new graphical bells and whistles, even the RTX 4090 will no longer be enough to comfortably play 4K.
