Even before the release of Halo Infinite, studio 343 Industries promised that in the future a computer version of the shooter will receive ray tracing.

More than a year has passed since then, but the developers do not intend to abandon their plans.

As part of the presentation Together We Advance_Gaming, dedicated to the announcement of new Radeon RX graphics cards based on the RDNA 3 architecture, Senior Vice President and General Manager of AMD Graphics division Scott Erkelman said that retracing will be implemented in Halo Infinite along with the start of the third season in March 2023.

After adding DirectX Raytracing support, Halo Infinite PC players will be able to enable ray tracing shadows for the Big Team Battle and Arena multiplayer modes.

In addition, according to Erkelman, owners of Radeon RX 7000 Series graphics cards will also notice improved lighting and increased performance.

A demonstration of Halo Infinite with ray tracing can be seen in the video below starting at 26:32.

Extended support for raytracing on a PC will soon also receive another Microsoft title — Forza Horizon 5.

A patch with RT reflections for cars during free riding, racing and photo mode will be available for download on November 8.
