After reports appeared that the remake of Silent Hill 2 was "technically ready," the studio Bloober Team released a statement clarifying the status of the game's development.

According to the studio, they usually do not comment on rumors, but this time they decided to clarify the situation, noting that the words recently circulated by the media that the project is allegedly "close to readiness" do not correspond to reality, as they were "taken out of context due to inaccuracy of translation."

"It is also not true that we have announced that Silent Hill 2 is ready for release.

Regardless of the stage of development, all our activities are aimed at obtaining the highest quality of the finished product that Silent Hill 2 fans deserve."

The remake of Silent Hill 2 was officially presented in October last year for PlayStation 5 and PC with temporary console exclusivity for the Sony platform for a period of 1 year.

Shortly after the announcement, it became known that the project has been in development since 2019 and has reached a late stage of production.

The updated game uses Unreal Engine 5, and will also get a new camera with a view from behind the shoulder, a redesigned combat system and some updated episodes.

The authors of the original, including artist Masahiro Ito and composer Akira Yamaoka, participate in the creation.
