The sequel to the mystical action Alan Wake will be released thirteen years after the release of the original game and will become part of the Remedy Connected Universe, which also includes Control.

The franchise's creative director Sam Lake says that this should not alienate new players from the second part.

Alan Wake II is designed in such a way that it will be interesting for both fans of previous studio games and beginners to dive into it.

"When we created the Alan Wake 2 concept, we thought that we wanted to release a friendly project for everyone — both for new players who may be unfamiliar with Alan Wake or the Remedy Connected Universe, and for our fans who traveled with us and enjoyed previous Remedy games," Sam said.

Lake in an interview with GamesRadar+ portal.

"Of course, if you've played Alan Wake, Control, and the AWE add-on for Control, you'll find a lot of connections, lore fragments, and familiar characters in Alan Wake II.

But it will also be interesting for those who haven't played." Alan Wake 2 is scheduled for release in 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

The developers are preparing a full-fledged horror.
