A series of Call of Duty shooters will officially receive new paid premium content in 2023. This was reported by Activision as part of the company's earnings report for the past quarter.
It was previously reported that next year Activision will miss the release of a new game in the main line of Call of Duty, which will be the first such case in almost 20 years of the annual franchise pipeline.
However, the company's statement does not exclude the possibility of a smaller project.
Insider Tom Henderson back in April said that Activision is going to fill the void in the schedule of Call of Duty releases for the next year and is preparing some undeclared game, which may turn out to be an independent version of the popular cooperative mode Zombies.
The next game in the main series, expected in 2024 after the planned new Modern Warfare II this fall, will most likely be the sequel to Black Ops.
Earlier this year, images believed to be related to the project were discovered in the mobile Warzone. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II starts on October 28.
Warzone 2.0 is also expected to launch at the end of the year.
