After a year of console exclusivity for PlayStation 5, the Deathloop shooter appeared on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. The IGN portal conducted a performance analysis of the game, which showed that the Microsoft flagship console provides better performance in Deathloop compared to PS5.

Deathloop versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X offer identical visual modes: Performance (dynamic 4K, 60 FPS), Visual Quality (dynamic 4K, 60 FPS), Ray Tracing (dynamic 4K, 30 FPS, ray tracing) and Ultra Performance (locked 1080p, 120 FPS and VRR).

In dynamic 4K modes, the resolution can be reduced to about 1800p on both systems.

Also on PlayStation 5 there is a problem in the beam tracing mode with incorrect application of sharpening filters, due to which the image looks a little more blurry than on the Xbox Series X, but in general the quality of the picture on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X is almost the same.

In terms of performance, ray-tracing and performance modes also go almost nostril to nostril.

Both consoles provide stable 30 frames per second in the first mode and 60 frames per second in the second, but the Xbox Series X has an advantage in quality mode, where it often outperforms the PlayStation 5 by 5-15 frames per second.

In ultra performance mode with 120 FPS, the superiority of the Xbox Series X is noticeably greater, showing at times the ahead of the PS5 by 30 frames per second.

However, in both modes, performance on the Xbox Series X is also not ideal.

In quality mode, there are drawdowns of up to 40 frames per second, and in ultra-performance mode, the reduction can reach up to 100 frames per second.

As for the Xbox Series S, only the Quality and Performance modes with dynamic 1080p are available here. Both produce fairly even 60 frames per second, but in drop quality mode it is slightly higher.

Deathloop is also available this week on Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium (Deluxe).
