In November of last year, Microsoft announced that the library of classic games with Xbox and Xbox 360 backwards compatible on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S will not be expanded anymore.

But according to the insider and XboxEra podcast host Nick Baker, this topic may return to once again — when the platform owner completes the takeover of Activision Blizzard.

According to Baker, he heard that the Activision Blizzard welcome to the Xbox family will be accompanied by various activities for fans, including ensuring backward compatibility for forgotten classics with the Xbox 360.

This category may include, for example, Quake 4 and Wolfenstein (2009) — the original versions were published by Activision. The backward compatibility program was launched in 2015.

The Xbox Series X|S supports almost all games with Xbox One and over 600 games with Xbox and Xbox 360.
