Nintendo is currently "not planning" to raise the cost of Switch in Japan despite the weakening yen, the company said at the request of Bloomberg.
Recent economic factors affecting Japan's economy have driven the output of other technology giants, such as Apple, to price higher, but none of the platform holders has yet adjusted the RRP for their products in line with the country's inflation.
At present, consoles are about $100 cheaper in Japan than in other countries.
Interestingly, of the big console three, only Nintendo answered Bloomberg's question about possible price changes, while Microsoft refused to comment.
Last week, Sony also refused to tell investors if PS5 could expect a price increase following April's rise in the company's consumer electronics prices in the region.
Last month, Reality Labs announced plans to increase the price of the Meta Quest 2 VR headset by $100 from August 1, explaining the increase in production and transportation costs.
Price increases are also expected in the chip sector. Analysts expect that next year processors will rise in price by 10-15%, which will most likely lead to an increase in the cost of other products.
