The servers of the multiplayer shooter Scavengers will be closed on December 16, just a year and seven months after launch.

The game was released in early access on Steam and Epic Game Store and was quite well received at the start, but over the past time has not been able to find a regular audience.

In addition, the project was affected by the change of developers.

Initially, the game was made by Midwinter Entertainment, founded by former creative director of 343 Industries Josh Holmes, but in May of this year, the owners of the studio from Improbable Worlds sold it to Behavior Interactive, known for Dead by Daylight.

As a result of the deal, the console versions of Scavengers were canceled, and a small internal team remained engaged in supporting the game on the PC.

Midwinter itself has already started creating its next project under the wing of the new owner.

Scavengers was distributed on a shareware model and combined elements of a royal battle with survival and PvE.

At the moment, the shooter is still available in the Epic Games Store, but it is no longer possible to download it on Steam.
