At the beginning of last year, it became known that Respawn Entertainment is developing three Star Wars games. One of them is a first-person shooter, and the other two are the upcoming Star Wars:

Jedi Survivor and a strategy created in partnership with the Bit Reactor studio, where Firaxis veterans work.

Since then, there has been no news about the shooter and strategy, but Respawn managed to find some new information in recent vacancies.

In particular, users noticed that the studio is currently expanding its staff and is looking for specialists for leading positions in the first-person shooter development team for the Star Wars franchise.

At the same time, all the ads say that it will be an AAA title, "inspired by classic franchise games such as Dark Forces and Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2."

It is also mentioned that the project will offer a singleplayer with an emphasis on narration and is created using the capabilities of the Unreal Engine 5.

Jedi Knight: Dark Forces was released in 1995 and was often compared to DOOM for the similarity of gameplay, and the sequel that followed two years later, Jedi Knight:

Dark Forces II, expanded the capabilities of the original by adding branched storylines, cinematic videos in real time and hand-to-hand combat with lightsabers.

Both games took place during the period of the original trilogy and told about the imperial officer Kyle Katarna, who defected to the rebellion, and then became a Jedi under the command of Luke Skywalker in the old Star Wars Legends universe.
