Another big announcement of the State of Play was Rise of the Ronin - a new action-RPG in the open world from Sony Interactive Entertainment, Koei Tecmo and the studio Team Ninja.
The events of the new game from the authors of Nioh will unfold in Japan at the end of the 19th century at the very end of the 300-year period of Edo, commonly known as "Bakumatsu".
Players will have to take on the role of Ronin, a warrior without a master with free will, and embark on an epic journey at the dawn of a new milestone to stop the chaos in which the country finds itself because of oppressive rulers, deadly diseases, Western influence, and civil wars.
Screenshots:Team Ninja calls Rise of the Ronin a new experience, in which the historically inspired world will be combined with action based on cold and firearms.
The game will also offer a multi-layered story where making one's own decisions will play an important role. Team Ninja considers the project its most ambitious and difficult work to date.
Its creation began seven years ago and is expected to be released in 2024 as a PlayStation 5 console exclusive.
