Sony is preparing a large batch of PlayStation VR2 helmets for PlayStation 5 for the first months of sales

Sony plans to produce 2 million units of PlayStation VR2 by March next year. This is reported by Bloomberg.

Mass production of the virtual reality headset began in September and has not yet faced restrictions in the supply chain.

It is clarified that the volume of production can be adjusted depending on the dynamics of sales of the device after its launch.

According to Bloomberg interlocutors, Sony's current plans to start selling the helmet in the first months of 2023 will coincide with the expected elimination of bottlenecks in the supply chain that have hindered the widespread availability of the PlayStation 5 since its release at the end of 2020.

This will give the company sufficient stocks of PS VR2 and PS5 for a "big marketing breakthrough."
