The South Korean company NCsoft has presented the first gameplay trailer of the third-person MMO shooter with the open world Project LLL.

Game director Sider Jahen Bae stated that with Project LLL they aim to create a new genre that will be radically different from the recently popular luther shooters or royal battles.

"We are creating a project that combines various game styles and elements of previous NC games, and we are very happy to share this preview with our community."

Project LLL will offer "a vast open world with more than 30 kilometers of territories seamlessly connected into a single environment.

The development is carried out on the Unreal Engine 5 engine for PCs and yet unnamed consoles. The game will be launched worldwide in 2024.

The events of Project LLL will unfold in a sci-fi setting, but, according to the authors, the project can also be attributed to the alternative history subgenre.

"The action takes place in a world that arose from the idea that the history known to us developed differently because of a certain event in the past.

In LLL, the destroyed Seoul, the Byzantine Empire of the 10th century and the 23rd century were mixed in one story."

The sources of inspiration for the plot were the novels "The Foundation", "Dune" and the works of Philip K. Dick, and from the films "Blade Runner", "Remember Everything" and the TV series "The Man in the High Castle", the authors drew for themselves the themes of technology, human justice and alternative history.

As for the characters, unlike other NC games, LLL will offer pre-defined heroes, each of which will have a unique name, background and motives.

According to rumors, NCsoft is also currently developing a multiplayer RPG based on the Horizon series for Sony.
