In August, the company raised prices for PS5 in certain regions, including Europe, the UK, Japan, Canada and others, except the United States, citing the global economic situation and high inflation rates.

Experts have previously predicted that the rise in price of the PS5 will not significantly affect the popularity of the console. Now this has been confirmed by Sony itself.

During a conversation with investors about quarterly earnings, Hiroki Totoki, CFO of the corporation, said that at the moment they do not observe any weakening of demand for the PlayStation 5 due to price increases, but noted that the company should continue to monitor what is happening in the market.

Microsoft has not yet globally raised prices for the Xbox Series X|S, but recently Phil Spencer admitted that sooner or later they will still have to increase the cost of some of their products.

According to him, the company will not raise prices this holiday season, but it will not be able to keep them at the same level forever.
