Along with the announcement of a new generation of video cards based on the RDNA3 architecture, AMD announced several partnership agreements with game publishers.

The main news was the partnership between AMD and Ubisoft aimed at optimizing the new version of the Snowdrop engine for Radeon graphics accelerators, which will run Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Star Wars from Massive Entertainment, a remake of Splinter Cell and other games.

During the presentation, AMD presented a brief technodemka Snowdrop Engine with global lighting, reflection and shadows based on raytracing.

The demonstration also used volumetric weather effects and rendering with microdetalization.

AMD says it has been working with Ubisoft to add high-performance ray tracing optimization to the Snowdrop Engine.

In 4K resolution and with FSR 2 enabled, the technodemka produced more than 80 frames per second on the RX 7900 XTX.

AMD also took some time to talk about a couple of already announced partnerships with the developers of The Callisto Protocol and Forspoken.

According to the manufacturer, in The Callisto Protocol, ray tracing will be used for "full effect" with shadows, translucency and glossy refractions that enhance the atmosphere of horror.

AMD promises that at 4K resolution and above, the RX 7900 graphics cards will provide "incredible frame rates." In the case of Forspoken, retracing will be involved in lighting and shadows.

The game also makes full use of FSR and VRR to achieve "incredibly fast" performance.
