Electronic Arts is going to transfer The Sims 4 to a conditionally free distribution model. This is reported by the Instant Gaming portal.
According to an internal publication source close to the EA, the fourth part of the Sims life simulator from the studio Maxis will be free from October 18.
The official announcement will allegedly be made today around 17:00 Moscow time.
Instant Gaming clarifies that only the basic edition of the game without extensions and cosmetic DLC will switch to the Free-To-Play model. All additions players will have to buy for a separate fee.
The Sims 4 was released on PC in September 2014, and reached the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles three years later.
