The duration of The Game Awards 2022 will be "significantly shorter" due to reviews at the awards ceremony of previous years, Jeff Cayley said.

In recent years, The Game Awards lasted from 3 to 4 hours.

According to the producer and host of the award, a lot of developers want to be at the event every year, but he thinks that such a duration tired the audience a little, so it was decided to reduce the number of participants to make the show more orderly.

Cayley also stated that in this regard, fewer games and, in particular, large titles will be presented at the current The Game Awards.

Before that, the organizer called the figure of 30-40 games, including already known and "quite a lot" of brand new ones.

For comparison, The Game Awards 2021 featured 13 games at the pre-show and 43 more games during the main show, including Wonder Women, Star Wars: Eclipse and Alan Wake 2.

This year, the pre-show will also be marked by a number of "major announcements".
