As a result of the past weekend, the Top Gun: Maverick militant managed to overcome the $1 billion mark in total fees. At the same time, the film earned $521.7 million in the United States, and the international cash register of the project amounted to $487 million.

Representatives of Paramount Pictures noted that 16% of viewers watched the film more than once, and 4% — more than four times. Thus, "Top Gun: Maverick" was Tom Cruise's biggest box office movie of his career.

The last record holder was "Mission Impossible: Consequences", which raised $791 million. Moreover, the novelty turned out to be only the second Hollywood painting to reach billions of dollars during the pandemic.

The first such tape was Spider-Man: No Way Home. The world premiere of "Top Gan: Maverick" took place on May 18, 2022.
