The Persona 5 Royal remaster for PlayStation 5 will not support transferring saves from the PS4 version of the game. The lack of this capability was confirmed by Atlus.

Earlier it also turned out that the current owners of jRPG on PlayStation 4 will not be able to upgrade to the PS5 version.

If you already have Persona 5 Royal for the previous generation of the Sony console and you want to get an improved reissue for PS5, then you will have to buy the game again.

Given this, it is not surprising that there will be no cross-progression between the two releases. Persona 5 Royal will be released on PS5 on October 21.

On the same day, the game debuts on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. Owners of the last three platforms will be able to play through Game Pass at the start.
