Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has become one of the main events of the PlayStation Showcase 2023.
The project was presented at the show with a long gameplay demonstration, but many fans also hoped to hear from Sony the exact release date, which, unfortunately, did not happen.
Almost two weeks after the presentation, Insomniac Games studio explained why the sequel to Spider-Man still has not taken its place in the calendar of upcoming releases.
In an interview with The Washington Post, the game's creative director, Brian Intikhar, admitted that the release date of Spider-Man 2 is "the elephant in the room", which the team does not want to talk about yet.
According to him, Insomniac should be sure that Spider-Man 2 will be released exactly on the day that the developers will announce, and, apparently, such a moment has not yet come.
"In fact, we just want to be sure that when we set a date [for release], we will definitely have time [to meet the deadline]," Intikhar said.
The official launch window for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is scheduled for this fall, but if you believe Venom's voice actor, Tony Todd, the release may take place as early as September.
Of the platforms, the game will be available only on PlayStation 5.
