Netizens noted that Prime Matter, the publisher of the upcoming remake of System Shock, raised the cost of the game on Steam without giving any reason.

The change happened on September 2 and affected many regions, including Ukraine, Kazakhstan, the UK, Japan, Europe and so on.

Below are examples of where and how much the value of the game has increased:

  • Turkey - from 67 to 399 TL
  • Ukraine - from 529 to 999 Hryvnia
  • India - from 959 to 2,199 Rupees
  • China - from 126 to 198 RMB 
  • Argentina - from 490 to 4,199 Argentine pesos
  • Kazakhstan - from 5,250 to 1,5999 Tenge
  • Vietnam - from 3,500 to 7,900
  • Taiwanese dong - from 646 to 1,099 Taiwanese dollars
  • Mexico - from 412 to 899 Mexican pesos
  • Japan - from 4,750 to 4,999 yen
  • Saudi Arabia - from 68 to 149 riyals
  • United Kingdom - from 32 to 35 pounds
  • European Union - from 38 to 40 euros
  • South Africa - from R245 to R650

At the same time, in a number of regions, the game has become cheaper.

For example, in New Zealand, the price dropped from 56 to 50 New Zealand dollars, in Australia - from 65 to 50 Australian dollars, and in the United States - from 45 to 40 American dollars.

 

The remake is created by Nightdive Studios for PC, as well as two generations of Xbox and PlayStation, but does not yet have a release date.
