The legal department of Take-Two Interactive actively combats leaks on Grand Theft Auto VI.
Videos demonstrating the early version of the game are massively removed from all open platforms, such as Twitter, YouTube and Facebook*, and on Reddit at the request of copyright holders, the entire community dedicated to Grand Theft Auto VI was deactivated.
Later, it was restored, but users were forbidden to post links to leaks. Publishing any screenshots is also prohibited.
“We are opening a subreddit with the condition that no one can publish links, screenshots and videos on recent leaks. This is to protect the community from being destroyed by Rockstar Games employees.
You can discuss the leak, but you can't link to the files associated with it. Comments containing references to confidential materials are prohibited, ”- says the administration.
Take-Two also got to the forum GTAForums, from where on Sunday began the distribution of confidential materials.
The publisher's lawyers demanded that the administration delete any files demonstrating the early version of the game, and all links to them, and the moderators of the platform promptly did so.
The topic is currently closed to new posts. According to the media, Take-Two lawyers are now trying to contact the hacker teapotuberhacker, who stole the working materials to punish him.
The leak hit Rockstar Games, which worked on the Grand Theft Auto VI for several years and wanted to surprise the audience as much as possible.
This is too important a game for both the publisher and the market in general. The publishing house has not yet made any official comments about the incident.
