The Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma took part in the Famitsu Game Awards ceremony, where The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was named the most anticipated game of 2023, and said that the developers came up with unexpected innovations for fans.
Aonuma did not go into details, but noted that the game has new gameplay mechanics that allow "changing the world of Khairul."
The producer believes that fans of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be pleasantly surprised by the "new gameplay" in the sequel and will enjoy exploring Hyrule in an "unusual" state.
In short teasers, trailers and patent documents on The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the developers paid attention to several new Link skills, such as the ability to pass through the landscape from the bottom up and improved free flight with the possibility of archery and falling backwards, but did not talk about them in detail.
In the last video for the game, it was also shown that Link will be able to control air and ground vehicles. Many questions remain about his new hand.
The premiere of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is scheduled for May 12, 2023.
