Developers from Studio Wildcard have revised their plans for the release of ARK: Survival Ascended, a re-release of the dinosaur survival simulator, improved on the Unreal Engine 5 engine.

Now the remaster will not only come bundled with the ARK 2 pre-order, but will receive a separate release, but for $ 60 instead of $ 50.

The price increase is due to the fact that now it will be bundled with all the extensions that originally wanted to be sold in a bundle with Survival Ascended and ARK 2 for $ 90.

Players who bought Ark: Survival Ascended will receive Survival of the Fittest and Scorched Earth immediately at launch, and the other four - Aberration, Extinction, Genesis: Part 1 and Genesis: Part 2 - will begin to be released in the fourth quarter of this year and will finish in the second quarter of 2024.

Recall that last week Wildcard announced the postponement of ARK 2 to 2024, and instead ARK: Survival Ascended, a remaster of Survival Evolved on Unreal Engine 5, will be released this fall.

Earlier it was reported that this update will be free, but the developers decided to sell it for $ 50 and only in the ARK Respawned Bundle with the not yet released ARK 2, and if players want to get updated additions for Survival Evolved, then the cost of the kit will be $ 90.

The players quickly criticized such a plan, and the developers admitted that the decision was not correct. "First of all, we are abandoning ARK: Respawned Bundle.

We are to blame and admit that combining ARK: Survival Ascended with ARK 2 and requiring further DLC upgrades was not optimal, especially since you would not be able to evaluate ARK 2, since neither the gameplay nor the content would have been available yet."

The studio also spoke in more detail about why the updated version is no longer a free update, and why they consider it necessary to close the official servers of the original ARK: Survival Evolved.

According to the developers, they initially planned a simple graphical update, but as the development progressed, Survival Ascended became more ambitious and received "critical design changes" that would lead to incompatibility with old saves and could break some mods.

As for the closure of the original Survival Evolved, the studio explained that it went for it, since a minority of players play on the official servers and further support would require significant resources and time, so they were forced to make such a decision to ensure a thriving long-term version of the game through ARK: Survival Ascended.
