A large-scale leak that occurred in the NVIDIA GeForce NOW cloud service in 2020 revealed a lot of unannounced games, many of which later turned out to be real.
One of the projects mentioned in that list was a remake of Final Fantasy IX.
Although Square Enix still has not confirmed the development of an updated version of the ninth Final Fantasy, new information has appeared on the network indicating that the game is really real.
An Im A Hero Too insider from the Resetters forum stated that he had seen a remake of Final Fantasy IX and that the game would not be released on the Nintendo Switch.
He also claims that the project is being created with explicit support from Sony, and the release will take place no earlier than in two years.
At the moment, the reliability of the insider is unknown, but the user provided the moderators of the forum with evidence that he has access to information that is not available to the general public.
In addition, he previously shared information about the development of the Persona 3 remake, which was confirmed by Gematsu sources.
