Thai studio Squid Shock has enlisted the support of Humble Games publishing house for the release of metroidvania Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus.
The action of the studio's debut project will unfold in the mysterious world of myths and legends.
The user will take control of the Bo flower, which descended from heaven to play a key role in an ancient and mysterious ritual.
Players are waiting for a colorful hand-drawn adventure inspired by Japanese folklore.
The developers propose to embark on a mystical journey as a fox cub using a legendary staff to explore an otherworldly realm full of strange and charming youkai, as well as huge monsters from ancient Asian legends.
The release of Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus is expected in 2024 on PC (Steam). It is worth noting that Squid Shock Studios consists of only two permanent employees.
In March 2022, Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus successfully passed a Kickstarter campaign, where users funded a version for the Nintendo Switch.
