Often games get remakes after many years, which give them a more modern look.

The opposite is demakes, whose creators (usually amateurs) set out to rethink modern games as if they were released many years ago on old platforms.

One of the latest examples of this was presented by the 64 Bits YouTube channel, which showed the concept of the Stray adventure game for the original Game Boy.

Although this is not a real game, the video demonstrates what a cyberpunk adventure about a cat could look like if it had been released in 1992 and really existed.

The authors of the video presented the game in the form of a side-scrolling platformer and recreated the first level, divided into 3 stages, starting from the separation of the tailed from his family and before arriving in the Dead City.

Demake's graphics were stylized as monochrome green pixel art, and sound effects were replaced with 8-bit ones to match that era.

There are also other demake concepts on the 64 Bits channel, for example, ELDEN RING for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Mass Effect for the Game Boy Advance and God of War (2018) for the first PlayStation.
