Bandai Namco has dated the JRPG dilogy of Baten Kaitos for the Nintendo Switch — Baten Kaitos 1+2 HD Remaster will be released on September 14, 2023.

Buyers will be able to go through Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean and Baten Kaitos Origins in an updated form.

The developers have redesigned the interface and added some nice features, like an automatic save system and the ability to skip cutscenes.

No changes are expected in the content plan — nothing new has been added and nothing old has been cut.

"Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean and Baten Kaitos Origins are back: you will find improved graphics and new features that make game progress even easier.

A long time ago, a bloody battle broke out between the evil god and people. After a fierce battle, the people managed to seal the evil god, but everything turned into a wasteland.

Therefore, people decided to leave the earth and settle in heaven. These tales were passed from mouth to mouth as legends.

In those days, people lived a peaceful life and had wings called Wings of the Heart. It was a long era of calm. . .

But disaster was imperceptibly approaching. When the young man calls your name — the name of the spirit, you will get into an incredible story.

A story that takes place on the heavenly continent, where thoughts and prayers are closely intertwined," the description says.

Baten Kaitos is a JRPG dilogy with a card combat system developed by Monolith Soft studio in collaboration with tri-Crescendo exclusively for the GameCube.

The first part appeared in 2003, and the prequel followed in 2005.

The series did not enjoy great success, which was due, among other things, to the difficult position of the GameCube on the market, but over the years it gained a cult status among fans.

The head of the development of both Baten Kaitos was Yasuyuke Honne, art director of Xenogears and Chrono Cross.

The visual feature of the games are beautiful pre-rendered backgrounds, reminiscent of the golden era of the genre.

Two years after the release of Baten Kaitos Origins, Monolith Soft studio became part of Nintendo, but the rights to the series remained with Bandai Namco.
