On the Fallout 4 page in SteamDB, a new test branch with the name "New Vegas 2" was noticed. According to the list of changes, it appeared on April 4 and contains a long list of files.
It is not yet known what this means.
Fallout 4 has not been updated for a long time, but back in October, Bethesda announced plans for a next-gen version of the game, which should be released this year on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
Maybe it's all connected somehow. However, whatever the developers are preparing, it is unlikely that this is Fallout: New Vegas 2.
Jeff Grubb in early 2022 reported that a potential sequel to Fallout New Vegas began to be discussed within the walls of Microsoft, but at that time everything was at such an early stage that even if something comes out of it, the result will not appear very soon.
At the same time, the head of Obsidian, Fergus Urquhart, and the creator of Fallout: New Vegas, Josh Sawyer, expressed interest in developing a new part of the series last year, but the matter has not moved beyond words yet.
