In February of this year, Microsoft entered into an agreement with Nintendo, under which it pledged to support the Japanese platformer's consoles with Call of Duty games for 10 years in case of purchase by Activision Blizzard.

Then the company said that potential Call of Duty ports for the Nintendo Switch will offer functional parity with versions for older systems and will work on the console natively without the use of cloud technologies.

In addition, the software giant promised to release CoD on Switch in the same time frame as on other platforms.

Now, as part of the litigation with the FTC, Xbox CEO Phil Spencer has shed some more light on what the company actually plans to achieve with Call of Duty on Switch in technical terms.

Spencer noted that when porting Call of Duty to Switch, their goal will be to provide players with a quality comparable to the rest of the games for this platform, "or even better."

According to him, the developers will strive to make the shooter port so that it is played as "excellent" as other Switch releases.

At the same time, it is obvious that due to the weak hardware of the Nintendo Switch, it is not worth expecting graphics on "big" consoles or PCs, and Spencer does not hide this.

To a direct question about whether Call of Duty on Switch will look the same as the Xbox Series X version, the head of Xbox replied that the gameplay will be the same "excellent", but the game will look "different".
