Little is still known about the Indiana Jones game from Bethesda Softworks and MachineGames Studio.

Nevertheless, the project continues to progress, and those who have already managed to evaluate the developments were very enthusiastic, according to the words of the head of the publishing department of the company, Pete Hines.

In an email from 2021, which became publicly available as part of Microsoft's lawsuit with the US Federal Trade Commission over the purchase of Activision Blizzard, Hines calls Indiana Jones from Bethesda/MachineGames a project "that Todd Howard has been trying to create for a decade."

This point is not disclosed in more detail in the document, but Hines writes that everyone who saw the pitch of the project declared their desire to "immediately play this game."

"Bethesda's Indiana Jones/MachineGames is what Todd Howard has been trying to do for a decade.

Anyone who saw the pitch [of the game] immediately said, 'Oh my God, I have to play this game right now.'"

In November last year, Howard said that fans are waiting for a game strongly inspired by the original Indiana Jones films.

Big fans of the series are working on it, and together they want to bring to life an adventure that will match the spirit of cinema as much as possible.

The game designer called the project a "love letter to all fans" of the franchise. According to Todd Howard, the new game incarnation of "Indiana" is a project of several genre directions at once.

Developers do not limit themselves to the framework of one genre and implement many ideas at once — players are waiting for both narrative adventure episodes and scenes with dynamic action.

Earlier it was reported that the game will feature both first- and third-person views. Indiana Jones by MachineGames is being developed only for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
