On Ubisoft Forward, Assassin's Creed was announced as a multiplayer. The project is subtitled "Invictus" by a team of former For Honor and Rainbow Six Siege developers.

The company is going to attract a wide audience, making the multiplayer more accessible.

In an interview with IGN, Assassin's Creed vice president and executive producer Marc-Alexis Côté reported that the company was discussing the distribution model of Invictus.

At the same time, there is a possibility that this will be a conditionally free game.

It is not quite clear what the development will eventually lead to: it will be a cooperative project, like a multiplayer mode in Assassin's Creed Unity, or a competitive one found in older games in the series.

However, Ubisoft considers "the possibility of a collision of characters from different eras." Invictus does not even have an approximate release window at the moment.

The next game in the series will be Assassin's Creed Mirage, which will be released in 2023 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and in the services of Google Stadia, Amazon Luna.

The game will cost $50 and will offer 15 to 20 hours of gameplay.
